Why focus on tablets?
Schools are purchasing Tablet computers, like the Apple iPad, at unprecedented rates.
The NTA is concerned that without teacher input and implementation support these tools will not successfully improve learning outcomes
Why focus on Implementation?
Instructional materials are only as good as their successful implementation in a classroom environment.
This project is aimed at the challenges teachers face in real-world classrooms with real students. In the future we aim to provide a marketplace for professional expert teachers so schools can contract with them for ongoing support.
Everyone is very excited about using tablet computers, such as the iPad, in the classroom but who is leading this “technology revolution?” There are over 20,000 apps that are labeled as “educational” but it seems that very few have been vetted as appropriate for use in the classroom. We believe that current teachers using tablets are the most qualified to share what is working best in the classroom. This is why we launched the NTA App Review Project. We aim to create a community of tablet using teachers who review too Ed-Apps and share implementation tips on the best apps for tablet educators.
So if you would like to get your school involved in reviewing tablet apps, see our steps below. Please remember this is a new initiative so we can use all the feedback we can get to make it a success.
If you are a teacher who wants to review tablet apps, please contact us at info@ntamail.org.
